Powell3 Triathlon Challenge - 10/22/2011

We are pleased that the Powell3 Triathlon Challenge in October is returning in 2011. This event it one of our smaller triathlons, in that the National Park has always limited us to 300 participants. This Sprint and Olympic distance course is one of the most beautifully landscaped races (see header). It is a great end of the season triathlon. As a subscriber to the On Hill Events and Gold Medal Racing newsletter you are being notified this early regarding this race due to the speed in which it fills. Currently we are a far way out to reaching the 300 participant cap but putting off registration for this race always leaves many triathletes out. In 2009 we had a collegiate competition at P3 which resulted in the cap being filled extremely early. We hope to see you there.

Legacy Midnight Run

The Legacy Midnight Run is growing fast in registrations. This race is the first year of the Legacy Midnight Run and already it has the 2nd most registrations for all our 2011 Eleven Races. We anticipate this event being one of the largest of 2011. The Legacy Midnight Run is a Half (13.1 Miles) Marathon, 10K or 5K event on the Legacy Parkway Trail System on July 15, 2011 at night time with Glow Sticks. We have purchased 20 black lights to help racers on the course glow a little more brightly. This will be a bused out start for the Half Marathon. We have recently acquired Fat Boy's Ice Cream as a sponsor for this event. They will be providing treats at the finish line for the participants. Crank Sports will be providing Crank Gel to participants for this event. We are finalizing the sponsorship with the Electrolyte company as well. We will post them once they are 100% on board. This race has gone up from $45 to $50 on March 1, 2011. As a newsletter email subscriber we are extending the early bird registration until March 7, 2011 if you use the code EARLYBIRD. This is last chance to register for the $45 price.

Willard Bay Triathlon - June 4, 2011

The Willard Bay Triathlon is a second year event. Last year this event went very well. We hope to grow this event in 2011. Willard Bay State Park is a beautiful Utah State Park and a great early season triathlon. We work with local agencies to have success on this event. For example we have the area treated 2 days prior to the race by the County Mosquito Abatement. We also work closely with Willard City. They come out in full force with police, fire departments, and volunteer help. With the help of Willard City we are able to keep the price for registration relatively low for a USAT Sanctioned event. If you are a USAT Annual Member you can register for this race for only $50. We hope you enjoy the Willard Bay Triathlon.

 

USAT Certified Race Director

Last week our team flew to Colorado Springs to gain training from USA Triathlon. USA Triathlon is the governing body for triathlon in the USA. There we learned new techniques to make our races safer, more professional, and more competitive. We hope you see the many new items at our races. It is our goal to make each race a bigger and better race each year.

USAT Sanctioned Triathlon Clinic

We will be hosting a USAT Sanctioned Triathlon Clinic in May. We will be working together with Lora Erickson aka Blonde Runner www.blonderunner.com and a highly quailified swim instructors Momentum Swimming.. Once we have the details finalized on this event we will post them on the Gold Medal Racing and On Hill Events website as well as in our monthly newsletter.
